


Dr. Alvin D. Lewis, Director
Dr. Alvin D. Lewis is a retired college professor and clinician. He served on the faculty at the University of Arizona (Africana Studies and Psychology), Arizona State University (Social Work), University of Phoenix (Counseling), and Pima College (Counseling / Social Services, Education, Criminal Justice).
Dr. Lewis also taught at Temple University and Norfolk State University, which are two of his alma maters, and had a clinical private practice for a number of years.
In addition to academia, Dr. Lewis also held various positions in clinical settings that includes SAMHC as Crisis Director, La Familias, Senior Clinician, Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind, Consultant, and The Pines at Tucson, as the Associate Clinical Director.
Dr. Lewis has authored four books; Cultural Diversity in Sexual Abusers Treatment, Multiracial Children: What Parents and Professionals Need to Know, Things That Go Bump in the Night: And Other Little Life Stressors, and The ABC’s of getting Clean and Sober; A Primer for Adolescents and Young Adults with a Substance Abuse Disorder.
The Warmline is a ministry that provide New City Ministries fellowship Church members and their family online resources and brief counseling for a myriad of issues and problems in their daily lives. Services include:

Toll free 1-800 numbers for local state and national resources.

Referrals when deemed necessary, or upon request.

Follow up to determine if the issue (s) and/or problem(s) was resolved.

Some live online services are available 24 hours, 7 days a week by professionals, and are free.
Services are provided by a Doctoral level clinician who can provide brief tele-counseling services. Services are confidential, unless there is a matter of harm to self or others.
